Illinois Foster and Adoptive Parent Association
“We Work for You”

Dear Caregiver:

Please register for the 2008 IFAPA/DCFS Caregiver Conference!  On behalf of the Illinois Foster and Adoptive Parent Association (IFAPA), it is my privilege to encourage you to attend this important training conference.  We are so happy to collaborate with DCFS and other community partners in presenting this conference!

We must all continue to develop our skills as we work together, while “Bringing Unity to Illinois Caregivers”.  Take advantage of the broad range of training sessions offered during the conference.  One workshop in particular, although all are important, is for Adoptive and Guardianship parents, presented by Dana Corman.  Caregivers will learn about the Family Matters Program, a pilot program in Illinois to assist families with back up guardianship plans for your child (ren).  The conference planning committee has scheduled a number of special events you will want to take advantage of; and take time to network with one another.

When you attend, we invite you to consider becoming an IFAPA member – stop by our exhibit and introduce yourself.  We are anxious to meet you and to have the opportunity to share our Illinois Foster and Adoptive Parent Association goals with you.  We meet five times per year, and we offer many leadership opportunities through our board and committees.

In conclusion, be aware that Friday evening we will have an Adoption Celebration kick off, and Saturday evening we will have a dinner and dance with some of the Lawmakers and Judges of Illinois!

Thank you for taking time to consider attending our training conference.  We welcome you as our guest.

Sincerely,
Gladys Boyd, President
Illinois Foster & Adoptive Parent Association
